Flodesk
Design-led email; the flat unlimited plan is gone for new users
Flodesk is a design-led email platform known for templates that look nothing like standard newsletters. Its famous flat unlimited plan was retired for new users in December 2025, so pricing now scales: Lite starts at $25 per month for 1,000 subscribers. There is no free sending tier.

What Flodesk is
Flodesk sells one thing extremely well: emails that look good. The templates are genuinely designed rather than assembled from blocks, and for photographers, designers, florists and boutique brands that is not a vanity concern. A templated grey newsletter actively contradicts what the business is selling.
Everything else about the product is secondary, and honestly so. Flodesk has never pretended to compete on automation.
Pricing
The important thing to know about Flodesk pricing is that most of what you will read online is out of date. For years the pitch was a flat fee (around $38 a month) for unlimited subscribers and unlimited sends, which made Flodesk dramatically cheaper than everyone else at scale.
That plan was retired for new members on 2 December 2025. Existing paying members are grandfathered in for as long as they keep the subscription; everyone else now pays by subscriber count, starting at $25 a month for 1,000 on Lite. The single strongest argument for Flodesk no longer applies to anyone joining today.
The other thing worth knowing before you compare free tiers: Flodesk’s free plan does not send email. It covers forms, landing pages and link-in-bio pages only, so unlike almost everything else here it is a lead-capture tier rather than a way to run a small list for nothing.
What it does well
- The best email templates in this comparison, not by a small margin
- Genuinely pleasant to use for people who are not marketers
- Forms and landing pages that match the emails visually
- Existing members keep the legacy unlimited pricing
Where it falls short
- The flat unlimited pricing that made its reputation is closed to new users
- The free tier sends no email at all, unlike almost every competitor here
- Automation is basic and segmentation is thin
- No API and no A/B testing
- US hosting, English-only interface
Who Flodesk is for
A good fit
Visual brands, designers and boutique businesses whose email has to look as considered as the rest of their identity.
- Designers, photographers and boutique brands where a templated newsletter would undercut the brand
- People who want beautiful email without hiring anyone or touching HTML
- Small lists, where the per-subscriber pricing has not yet become the deciding factor
- Anyone who values the editor above every other consideration, which is a legitimate position
Not a fit
You came for the old flat unlimited pricing, need automation depth, or want an API.
- You are here for the flat unlimited plan, which new users can no longer get , use MailerLite instead
- You need real segmentation, branching automation or an API , use Kit instead
- You run an online shop and want email driven by order data , use Omnisend instead

Is Flodesk still unlimited for a flat fee?
Not for new users. The flat unlimited plan was retired on 2 December 2025. Members who were already paying keep it for as long as they maintain the subscription, but new signups pay by subscriber count.
How much does Flodesk cost now?
Lite starts at $25 per month at 1,000 subscribers and Pro at $28, with Everything from $54. Annual billing gives you one month free. Prices scale with subscriber count like most platforms here.
Is Flodesk free?
Not for sending. There is a free tier for forms, landing pages and link-in-bio pages, but it includes no email sends at all. To email your list you need a paid plan, or the 14-day trial, which caps sends at 500 a day.
Why do people choose Flodesk?
The editor. Flodesk emails look designed rather than assembled, and for brands whose whole proposition is visual that is worth paying for. No other platform here comes close on template quality.
What is Flodesk missing?
Automation depth, segmentation, A/B testing and an API. It is a design tool that sends email, not a marketing platform, and the gap shows the moment your needs get technical.
